I am a PhD candidate in the Department of Political Science at the University of Wisconsin, specializing in Political Communication and new media, and working closely with the School of Journalism and Mass Communication. My research interests include political communication, political behavior, media effects, new media, and social media, with an emphasis on the intersection between media, technology, and politics.  My dissertation focuses on exposure to political information via social media. Using a combination of trend data, survey data, and experimental data, I consider the amount of exposure taking place, as well as its potential effects.

Beginning in the Fall of 2012, I will be an assistant professor in the department of Communication, Culture, & Technology at Georgetown University.
